Obama Reads “Mean Tweets” to Shut Down Trump with the Perfect Burn

The “Nickelback of presidents” has one hell of an insult for Trump.

“Barack Obama is the sharknado of presidents. Loud, stupid and over-hyped. #Sharknado4.”

Yep, President Barack Obama returned to “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Monday to read a new round of mean tweets. Some took aim at the president’s dad-dancing, others blamed him for ineffective hair conditioner. But the harshest criticism came from none other than social media addict Donald Trump, who in one Twitter fit predicted Obama would go down as the worst president in American politics. That’s when Obama responded with an excellent burn, one that truly hit the GOP candidate where it hurts him the most.

Dear Reader,

This feels like the most important fundraising drive since I've been CEO of Mother Jones, with staggeringly high stakes and so much uncertainty. In "News Is Just Like Waste Management," I try to unpack the reality we all face and how we can rise to the challenge. If you're able to, this is a critical moment to support Mother Jones’ nonprofit journalism: We need to raise $400,000 to help cover the vital reporting projects we have planned, and right now is no time to pull back.
